HANTEN. Sleeve

"HANTEN. Sleeve" is a case made with genuine materials and craftsmanship to properly protect the laptop — an indispensable tool in today's working life.

The Sleeve (laptop case) fits 13–14 inch PCs.

Its vertical shape lets you slip your laptop in and out easily from the top, and the simple construction, with a magnetic closure at the opening, makes it easy to use even when placed directly into a backpack.

The outer fabric is cotton juban tenjiku. It is the same cloth long used for noren curtains and artisans' hanten jackets, with just the right weight and texture. Padding inside provides cushioning so you can carry your laptop with peace of mind.

Four colors have been chosen from Japan's traditional color palette: Ai (indigo), Kihada (amur cork tree yellow), Bengara (red ochre), and Fukamidori (deep green) — each with its own vivid appeal. They were selected with the wish to offer colors that lift your spirits each time you take the case out of your bag.

The single-layer sashiko used for the lining is the fabric once used for firefighters' hanten. Carrying the story of the firefighters who protected the town, it is the ideal cloth for protecting your tools.

The thick sashiko threads create a beautiful raised texture, which peeks out every time you take your laptop in or out.

Inspired by "uramasari," the Japanese aesthetic of deliberately placing the highlight on the inside, the distinctive single-layer sashiko lining gives the design its balance.

We are proud to present a laptop case that only Kato Kenki-ten, a maker of noren curtains and firefighters' hanten since long ago, could create.
