Coloured Silver Leaf, Bottled, 21-Color Set

Koyohaku is a richly colored foil product made by Imai Kinpaku. The tone of gold leaf can be adjusted by changing the alloy ratio of the gold, but vivid colors such as red, blue and purple simply cannot be achieved with gold leaf alone. Koyohaku solves this by using silver leaf as a base and applying color to it, achieving a breadth of hues that gold leaf can never offer.

The range comprises 21 colors in all: 5 warm tones (red, deep vermilion, vermilion, peony, pink), 2 purples (purple, deep purple), 4 golds (pure gold, sanbu gold, golden brown, yellowish green bamboo), 4 greens (celadon, nando blue-green, green bamboo, Shinbashi blue), 5 blues (saxe, deep saxe, blue, deep blue, blue shell), and sumi black. Each color comes packed in its own small glass vial, ready for nail art, picture postcards, decorating craftwork and other playful applications quite unlike those of gold leaf.

Because the base is silver leaf, the color may change if exposed to direct sunlight. Not for use with food. Offered as a 21-color set, so you can have the full range of color combinations at hand all at once.
