Hanamai (Necklace) – Washi Blossom Dewdrop
花舞(ネックレス)- 和紙ノ華雫A washi paper necklace that looks as though it has captured the very instant blossoms drift to the ground. Flowers strung along a vertical line sway gently at the neckline, drawing a crisp, dignified expression.
Each beautiful petal is born from a 1cm square of hand-made Mino washi, shaped one by one using the tsumami-zaiku technique. At the center sits a translucent natural stone, encircled by a border of golden beads. A small leaf motif finishes the lower tip, revealing a different look with every sway.
The lightness and soft texture unique to washi live in each of the flowers linked down the strand. Please enjoy the subtle differences in expression from flower to flower — something only handwork can bring about.
As light to wear as ever, this is a piece whose splendor grows the more it moves. Easy to pair with both Japanese and Western clothing, it looks lovely with kimono and yukata, and equally striking for parties and other special occasions. The chain is made from a material that is gentle against the skin.
It arrives in a Mino washi box flecked with gold leaf, so it can be given as a gift just as it is.
Exposure to water and strong friction can cause fading and loss of shape. Please treat it with care so you can enjoy it for many years.
