Silver Flow, Jet Black

A glass-urushi plate on which silver and jet black blend together, drawing a pattern that spreads like flowing water. The natural flow is created with the nagashimoku technique and finished using maki-e.

The way the pattern flows differs slightly from piece to piece. The expression of the silver also changes with the quality and angle of the light.

The silver and jet-black pattern can be seen deep beneath the clear glass. Because the surface is glass, it resists scratching even when knives and forks are used, and it is dishwasher safe.

The tone of the urushi shifts little by little over time. This aging is part of the charm of lacquer.

Available in three sizes: S, M, and L. It also works well for presentations with small bowls or small dishes placed on top.
