Matsuhisa Notebook - Set of 6 Colors

"Matsuhisa Note" is an original notebook born when Matsuhisa Eisuke Kamiten, a Mino washi paper wholesaler, upcycled the Mino washi masking-tape base paper remaining in its own stock. Paper that had finished its original role was given a new purpose, refashioned as covers for a bound tool you can hold in your hand.

The covers come in six colors in all: pink, red, yellow, light yellow, green, and light green. All six are delivered together as a single set. You can line them up and enjoy the different mood each color brings, choose one to suit the day's mood or purpose, or hand them out one at a time as small gifts for the people around you.

For the inner pages we use a Mino washi known as "rakusuishi." Made by dropping water onto the sheet before it dries to create a pattern, this washi is characterized by its beige-tinged natural off-white tone and the delicate, dappled expression of its water-dropped texture.

Because every single notebook is made entirely by hand by our own artisans, the way the creases fall and the character of the paper differ slightly from one copy to the next. That handmade quality — something uniformly finished industrial goods can never have — is precisely the appeal of the Matsuhisa Note.
