Orizuru Crane Chiyogami Paper - 2 Sets

An origami (chiyogami) set made with vividly colored Yuzen-dyed Mino washi paper. It blends ornate Yuzen patterned sheets with calm, solid-colored mingei folk paper, making it a collection in which you can enjoy traditional Japanese motifs to the full.

There are two sizes: 15 x 15cm and 10 x 10cm. Each contains 20 sheets of Yuzen paper (patterned) and 20 sheets of mingei paper (plain colored), for a total of 40 sheets, and both sizes are delivered together as a set. You can use each size as the occasion calls for.

The Yuzen sheets feature traditional patterns with Japanese motifs such as cherry blossoms, plum blossoms and folding fans, rendered in brilliant Yuzen dyeing. Because Mino washi combines strength with suppleness, the paper resists tearing even when folded over many times, making it well suited to folding paper cranes, which call for fine, precise creases.

The combination of patterns differs from one set to the next and is delivered completely at random. The images shown are only one example of a possible combination, and a set may include more than one sheet of the same pattern. Enjoying a different encounter with every sheet is part of what makes this product special.
